This Independence Day, we’re proud to share more about our partnership with the Iron Freedom Foundation (IFF), a foundation dear to our hearts that celebrates veterans and takes them on outdoor adventures. What is so special about IFF is how they go above and beyond - veterans are not only supplied with the necessary provisions to complete the outdoor program, but they also get to keep all of the gear themselves for future trips of their own. IFF believes in the philosophy that - “You can not teach a man how to fish and feed him for a lifetime, without giving him the proper tools to do so.”
I originally started donating to IFF myself because of an epic fishing trip video they dropped from the Devil's River (a personal favorite of mine). We got so excited about IFF as a team, we decided that for every purchase of our original boot, the Lamar, we would give a charitable portion of sales back to the foundation.
The Lamar is inspired by the collection of classic cowboy boots my grandpa (who was a WWII vet) handed down to me when he passed away. Alvies would have never existed had I not inherited my grandfather’s boots. I was always proud to wear them because they made me think about the adventures and stories he created in each pair.
To further honor my grandfather’s legacy, part of the Alvies mission is to give back by donating a portion of our sales to worthy causes. We do that through our Alvies Kicks Back program, which also highlights inspirational people living their authentic lives - which was my grandpa to a tee.
And if you’re a veteran interested in a pair of Alvies Boots, email us at Holler@Alvies.com and we’d be happy to honor you with our veterans discount.
